Water Rates

As a public agency, Coachella Water Authority and Sanitary District is prohibited by law from gaining a profit from water rates. The Authority legally can charge customers only as much as the cost of providing water services. The Authority’s rate structure is designed to apply the cost of providing water to its customers’ water rates equitably, in accordance to their monthly water use.

Non-residential sewer service customers are billed based upon wastewater volume and the expected concentration (or strength) of pollutants in their wastewater discharge. There are three categories of sewage strength: low, medium, and high.
