Sewer Rates

The costs of providing sewer services to each class of customer are reflected in the rates. Because different customers discharge different quantities of wastewater with varying concentrations of pollutants, the costs of sewer services vary among the different types of accounts.

Residential

For residential customers, the monthly charge is as follows:

SINGLE FAMILY, MULTI-FAMILY & MOBILE HOMES CURRENT RATE
Flat monthly rate per residence $41.81

The monthly fixed service charge recovers a portion of the Sanitary District’s fixed costs, and is determined by allocating those costs equally to all customers.

Non-Residential

Non-residential sewer service customers are billed based upon wastewater volume and the expected concentration (or strength) of pollutants in their wastewater discharge. There are three categories of sewage strength: low, medium, and high.

5/8-inch water meter$26.65

CVWD RAC Charges

As of July 1, 2016, the Coachella Valley Water District increased the Replenishment Assessment Charge (RAC) from $57 per acre-foot to $66 per acre-foot. The increase is applied to all users in the East Whitewater River sub-basin area who pump more than 25 acre-feet of water per year from the aquifer.

This fee supports CVWD’s groundwater recharge efforts and is assessed to CWA customers as an itemized portion of their monthly bill. For more information, see CVWD’s April 2016 Engineer’s Report or visit CVWD’s website at cvwd.org.
